On Tuesday, May 2nd, denizen will host Dan Honig of Happy Valley Meat Company for a delicious and educational dinner, the first in a series of events focusing on sustainable and thoughtful sourcing. We’re proud to work with Dan, who provides us with delicious, responsibly raised meats from small farms in central PA. While most meat purveyors focus on “breed and feed” labels (e.g. grass-fed, black angus) HVMC focuses on the wellbeing of its animals, which creates a superior product that you can feel good about eating.
“Our mission is to forge a direct connection between chefs and farmers to improve the lives of the people and animals that feed us,” says Honig, who is currently in the process of becoming the first and only meat purveyor in the country to be certified humane by the ASPCA.
Dan will speak to our guests at 7pm, followed by a menu highlighting his meats. This prix fixe will be offered all night, along with our full dinner menu.
